About Banff Sunshine Village

Perched high on the Continental Divide in the heart of Banff National Park, Banff Sunshine Village is a truly spectacular Canadian Rockies destination. Accessible via a high-speed gondola from the base parking lot, the resort sits in a massive alpine bowl that acts as a natural snow magnet. Known for its 100% natural snow profile and lack of snowmaking, Sunshine boasts one of the longest non-glacial seasons in Canada, typically running from early November until late May.

Terrain and Trails

Banff Sunshine spans three distinct mountains—Mount Standish, Lookout Mountain, and Goat’s Eye Mountain—offering 3,358 skiable acres and a staggering 3,514-foot vertical drop. With 12 lifts, including the country’s first heated chairlift (Teepee Town LX), the resort caters to everyone. Beginners enjoy the gentle rolling terrain near the upper village, while experts flock to “Delirium Dive,” an iconic, extreme freeride zone that requires avalanche gear and a partner to enter.
