About Big Bear Mountain Resort

Situated in the San Bernardino Mountains just a couple of hours from Los Angeles, Big Bear Mountain Resort is Southern California’s premier winter playground. The resort encompasses two distinct mountains—Snow Summit and Bear Mountain—which are connected by a free shuttle. Acquired by Alterra Mountain Company, the resort has benefited from massive investments in its snowmaking infrastructure, ensuring consistent conditions under the sunny California sky.

Terrain and Trails

Together, Bear Mountain and Snow Summit offer 748 skiable acres. Snow Summit features a 1,200-foot vertical drop with a traditional alpine feel, boasting wide, impeccably groomed runs and extensive night skiing. Bear Mountain, affectionately known as the “Park City of the West,” features a 1,665-foot vertical drop and is legendary for its freestyle terrain. It offers halfpipes, massive jumps, and over 100 jibs spread across the mountain, making it the ultimate destination for snowboarders and freestyle skiers.
