Situated in southern Utah, Brian Head Resort offers a uniquely stunning alpine experience characterized by its proximity to spectacular red rock vistas. Opened in 1964, the resort holds the distinction of having the highest base elevation in Utah at 9,600 feet. This high altitude translates to exceptionally light, dry snow, averaging nearly 360 inches annually. With 650 acres of skiable terrain and a 1,320-foot vertical drop connecting two distinct mountains, Brian Head is a high-desert oasis for winter sports.
Brian Head’s terrain is divided between Navajo Mountain and Giant Steps Mountain, connected by a ski bridge. Navajo is almost entirely dedicated to beginners and intermediates, providing a safe, uncrowded environment for learning. In contrast, Giant Steps offers longer, steeper runs, including tree skiing and terrain parks, serviced by an express quad. With 71 runs and 8 lifts total, the resort rarely sees the massive lift lines common in northern Utah, making it a peaceful, family-friendly getaway.
Planning your ski day at Brian Head is easier than ever with our live high-definition webcams. You can visually confirm the snow conditions, check out the grooming on Giant Steps, and view the crowd levels at the Navajo base area. Because of its extreme elevation, conditions can be significantly colder than the surrounding valleys. Pair the webcam views with the real-time weather information at the top of the page to ensure you are perfectly prepared for the elements.
