About Brighton Resort

Located at the top of Big Cottonwood Canyon, Brighton Resort is Utah’s oldest ski area, having opened its slopes in 1936. Brighton is renowned for receiving a staggering 500 inches of incredibly light, dry Utah powder annually. The resort offers 1,050 acres of skiable terrain with a 1,745-foot vertical drop. Known for its laid-back atmosphere, Brighton was one of the first resorts in Utah to welcome snowboarders and remains a hub for freestyle riding and powder hounds alike.

Terrain and Trails

Brighton’s terrain is uniquely accessible; essentially, all 7 lifts serve beginner, intermediate, and expert runs, meaning families and groups of different abilities can easily ride the same chairlifts. The resort features 66 named runs, with famous expert powder stashes off the Milly and Great Western Express lifts. Brighton is also highly regarded for its extensive terrain parks and boasts the most night skiing terrain in Utah, illuminating over 200 acres across 22 runs.
