About Copper Mountain

Situated in Summit County, Colorado, Copper Mountain is a world-class resort beloved for its naturally divided terrain. Opened in 1972, the mountain perfectly segregates skiers by ability level—beginners on the west, intermediates in the middle, and experts on the east—reducing trail congestion and improving safety. Copper features a massive 2,507 acres of skiable terrain, a 2,738-foot vertical drop, and is famously home to the U.S. Ski Team Speed Center, where elite athletes train early in the season.

Terrain and Trails

With over 150 trails serviced by 24 lifts, Copper offers endless variety. The west side features gentle, rolling slopes perfect for learning. The central area boasts long, fast intermediate cruisers like Andy’s Encore. The east side and the upper bowls are an expert’s playground; areas like Spaulding Bowl and Resolution offer steep chutes, moguls, and deep powder stashes above the tree line. Copper is also a freestyle mecca, boasting world-class terrain parks and a Superpipe.
