Located in the rugged Lizard Range of the Canadian Rockies in British Columbia, Fernie Alpine Resort is a legendary destination for powder hounds. The resort is famous for its massive annual snowfall—often receiving up to 30 feet of light, dry powder—and its authentic, historic mining-town charm.
Fernie is massive, offering 2,504 acres of skiable terrain and a formidable 3,550-foot vertical drop. The resort is defined by its five spectacular alpine bowls: Cedar, Timber, Currie, Lizard, and Siberian. Serviced by 10 lifts, the mountain features 142 named runs, plus endless glades and chutes. The terrain breakdown is 30% beginner, 40% intermediate, and 30% advanced/expert. Advanced riders flock to the steep chutes of Polar Peak, while intermediates enjoy endless rolling cruisers lower down.
Before heading out to track up the legendary bowls, check our live Fernie webcams for visibility and snow depth. Fernie’s weather can change quickly, so use our real-time weather monitoring to see if the “Griz” has delivered another fresh dump of snow.
