About Kicking Horse

Kicking Horse Mountain Resort, located in Golden, British Columbia, is a big-mountain paradise renowned as the “Champagne Powder Capital of Canada.” Famous for its steep chutes, expansive alpine bowls, and incredibly light, dry snow, it offers an extreme skiing experience that rivals the best in the world. The summit is also home to the Eagle’s Eye Restaurant, the highest dining experience in Canada at 7,700 feet.

Terrain and Trails

Kicking Horse features a staggering 4,314-foot vertical drop and 3,486 skiable acres, largely serviced by the single, massive Golden Eagle Express Gondola. The terrain is decisively geared toward advanced and expert skiers, with over 120 trails spanning across five spectacular alpine bowls and endless inbound hike-to ridgelines like CPR Ridge and Terminus Mountain. While the lower mountain offers long, winding green and blue groomers, the heart of Kicking Horse lies in its challenging steeps and deep powder stashes.
