About Killington

Known affectionately as “The Beast of the East,” Killington is a titan of Eastern skiing located in the Green Mountains of Vermont. Founded in 1958 by Preston Leete Smith, the resort pioneered extensive snowmaking, allowing it to historically offer the longest ski season in the East, often running from October into late May or early June.

Terrain and Trails

Killington boasts a massive 1,509 skiable acres and a formidable 3,050-foot vertical drop. The resort spans across six interconnected mountain peaks (seven including Pico Mountain) and is serviced by an expansive fleet of 21 lifts, including two gondolas. The terrain varies from wide, rolling groomers to some of the steepest mogul runs in the country, most notably the legendary Outer Limits on Bear Mountain and the steep pitches of Cascade.
