About Liberty

Located just north of the Maryland border near historic Gettysburg, Liberty Mountain Resort is a highly popular winter destination for residents of the Baltimore and Washington D.C. metro areas. Originally opened in 1964 under the name Charnita before being rebranded to Ski Liberty in 1974, the mountain has grown into a highly accessible and beloved local hill.

Terrain and Trails

Liberty offers 100 skiable acres with a 620-foot vertical drop, utilizing a robust snowmaking system to combat mid-Atlantic weather fluctuations. The mountain features 8 lifts giving access to a variety of terrain. Beginners can practice comfortably on the gentle slopes of the front side, while advanced skiers look to the back side for steeper challenges like the expert-only Eastwind and White Lightning runs.
