Opened in 1966 by former New Hampshire Governor Sherman Adams, Loon Mountain Resort in the White Mountain National Forest is highly accessible, situated just off Interstate 93. It is celebrated for its powerful, high-efficiency snowmaking capabilities and consistently top-rated grooming, making it a reliable destination throughout the New England winter.

Terrain and Trails

Loon Mountain offers 370 skiable acres and a 2,100-foot vertical drop. The resort is equipped with 10 lifts, notably featuring the Kancamagus 8—Eastern North America’s first 8-person chairlift. The trail layout provides excellent progression from beginner to expert. Thrill-seekers frequent the steep and demanding Ripsaw and the sustained pitch of Walking Boss, while multiple award-winning terrain parks cater to freestyle riders.
