Located in Zanesfield, Mad River Mountain holds the distinction of being the largest ski resort in Ohio. Opening its doors in 1962 originally under the name Valley Hi Ski Area, the resort has become a staple for winter sports enthusiasts in the Midwest, offering a highly accessible snowy escape.

Terrain and Trails

Mad River features 144 skiable acres and a 300-foot vertical drop, serviced by an impressive network of 10 lifts. The mountain caters heavily to families and freestyle riders alike, boasting the massive Capital Park, which is consistently rated as one of the premier terrain parks in the region. In addition to skiing and snowboarding, it also features a massive 1,000-foot snow tubing chute, making it a well-rounded winter destination.
