About Mountain High

Nestled in the San Gabriel Mountains just an hour and a half from downtown Los Angeles, Mountain High is one of Southern California’s most accessible and popular winter sports destinations. Operating since the 1920s, it holds the title of one of the oldest ski resorts in the country. With a total vertical drop of 1,600 feet and 290 skiable acres, Mountain High is unique because it consists of three distinct resorts—West, East, and North—each offering a different atmosphere and terrain profile for local day-trippers.

Terrain and Trails

The resort features 59 trails serviced by 14 lifts across its three areas. The West Resort is the bustling epicenter, famous for its progressive terrain parks and night skiing under the lights. The East Resort boasts the longest trails and the highest elevation (8,200 feet), offering incredible views of the Mojave Desert and steeper runs perfect for carving and moguls. The North Resort is dedicated to beginners and families, featuring gentle slopes and the North Pole Snow Play area for tubing and sledding.
