About Mt. Hood Meadows

Situated on the sunny, wind-protected eastern flank of Mount Hood, Mt. Hood Meadows is the largest and most popular ski resort on Oregon’s highest peak. Offering a spectacular vertical drop of 2,777 feet and 2,150 skiable acres, it delivers a massive, big-mountain experience just 90 minutes from Portland. Operating on a special use permit from the Mount Hood National Forest, Meadows is renowned for its varied terrain, deep Cascade snowfall, and breathtaking panoramic views of the surrounding volcanic peaks.

Terrain and Trails

With 87 trails serviced by 11 lifts, Mt. Hood Meadows has something for everyone. Beginners can find comfortable magic carpets and wide, gentle slopes near the South Lodge. Intermediates love the rolling cruisers off the Shooting Star Express. However, Meadows truly shines for advanced and expert skiers. The steep, powder-choked bowls of Heather Canyon and the incredibly challenging, cliff-dotted double-black-diamond terrain of the Private Reserve offer some of the most extreme lift-served skiing in the Pacific Northwest.
