About Mt. Rose Ski Tahoe

Located just 25 minutes from Reno, Nevada, Mt. Rose Ski Tahoe is known for having the highest base elevation in the Lake Tahoe region at a staggering 8,260 feet. This lofty starting point ensures some of the earliest openings, best snow quality, and most reliable conditions in the area. With a vertical drop of 1,800 feet and 1,200 skiable acres, Mt. Rose offers breathtaking views of both the Washoe Valley and the sapphire waters of Lake Tahoe from its 9,700-foot summit.

Terrain and Trails

Mt. Rose features over 60 trails serviced by 8 lifts, including two six-passenger high-speed express chairs. The mountain is split into two distinct faces: the Main Lodge side, which offers fantastic beginner areas and sweeping intermediate cruisers, and the Slide Bowl side, which is famous for its sunny, rolling blue runs. For expert skiers and snowboarders, the crown jewel of Mt. Rose is “The Chutes,” offering 200 acres of incredibly steep, continuous 40-to-55-degree pitch double-black-diamond terrain that ranks among the most challenging in North America.
