Located on the northern Japanese island of Hokkaido, Niseko United is widely considered one of the premier powder skiing destinations in the world. Comprising four interconnected resorts—Grand Hirafu, Niseko Village, Annupuri, and Hanazono—the mountain offers a combined 2,191 skiable acres and a vertical drop of roughly 3,000 feet. Renowned for “Japow,” Niseko receives an astonishing average of 50 feet (15 meters) of ultra-dry, light powder snow each season. The resort is also famous for its incredible views of the dormant volcano, Mt. Yotei.
Niseko features 70 trails accessed by a modern network of 30 lifts, including several high-speed gondolas and covered chairs. While the resort offers beautifully groomed runs for beginners and intermediates, its true draw is the legendary off-piste and tree skiing. Through a unique system of dedicated gates, advanced riders can safely access expansive backcountry bowls, widely spaced birch forests, and deep powder gullies. Niseko is also famous for its expansive night skiing operations, where massive floodlights illuminate huge swaths of the mountain, creating magical, shadow-free powder runs.
