About Palisades Tahoe

Palisades Tahoe, formerly known as Squaw Valley and Alpine Meadows, is a legendary ski resort located in Olympic Valley, California, northwest of Lake Tahoe. It famously hosted the 1960 Winter Olympics, putting California skiing on the global map. Covering a massive 6,000 skiable acres across two mountains, Palisades Tahoe offers an impressive vertical drop of 2,850 feet.

Terrain and Trails

With 34 lifts, including an iconic aerial tram and a funitel, Palisades Tahoe serves up terrain for all abilities but is globally recognized for its extreme, steep terrain. Famous runs include KT-22, often referred to as the greatest chairlift in North America, and the expansive Shirley Lake area. The base area features a vibrant European-style village full of shopping, dining, and vibrant après-ski culture.
