Purgatory Resort is located in the rugged San Juan Mountains of southwestern Colorado, just 25 miles north of historic downtown Durango. The resort takes its name from nearby Purgatory Creek and has been a beloved family destination since it opened in 1965.
Purgatory boasts a 2,029-foot vertical drop and over 1,600 skiable acres of deeply pitched, rolling terrain. The mountain features 105 trails serviced by 12 lifts, including a six-person high-speed chair. The resort is famous for its incredibly fun, terraced cruiser runs on the front side, while the back side offers steep tree skiing and challenging plunges for advanced riders.
