About Sierra at Tahoe

Located just south of Lake Tahoe in California, Sierra-at-Tahoe has been a beloved destination for snow enthusiasts since it originally opened as Sierra Ski Ranch in 1968. Founded by Vern and Bobbie Sprock, the resort has maintained a welcoming, family-friendly atmosphere while boasting some of the region’s best tree skiing. It is highly regarded for its wind-protected slopes and massive annual snowfall, averaging over 400 inches a year.

Terrain and Trails

Sierra-at-Tahoe offers 2,000 skiable acres accessed by 14 lifts, including three express quads. The mountain features a 2,212-foot vertical drop, stretching from the 8,852-foot summit down to the base. The terrain is broken down into 25% beginner, 50% intermediate, and 25% advanced. Expert skiers and snowboarders rave about the legendary glades in Avalanche Bowl and Jack’s Bowl, while freestyle riders flock to award-winning terrain parks like The Alley and the Halfpipe. Famous long cruiser runs such as Sugar N’ Spice ensure there is plenty of enjoyable terrain for everyone.
