About Snow Valley

Located in the San Bernardino Mountains of Southern California, Snow Valley is the region’s oldest continuously operating ski resort, with a rich history dating back to 1924. Recently integrated into the Big Bear Mountain Resort family and the Ikon Pass, Snow Valley is celebrated for its accessible location—often avoiding the heavy traffic associated with the drive further up to Big Bear Lake. It serves as an exceptional family-friendly mountain that still packs a punch for advanced riders when the snow falls.

Terrain and Trails

Snow Valley spans 240 skiable acres and features a 1,041-foot vertical drop, stretching from the 7,841-foot summit down to the 6,800-foot base. The mountain offers 30 trails serviced by 12 lifts, including a six-person high-speed chairlift. The terrain breakdown is 14% beginner, 46% intermediate, and 40% advanced. Beginners will love the dedicated learning zones at the base, while advanced skiers and snowboarders rave about Slide Peak, a legendary steep zone that offers some of the best lift-served tree skiing and black diamond pitches in Southern California.

Live Webcams & Weather

Keep a close eye on the Southern California snowpack with our live webcams at Snow Valley. Because the mountain relies on both natural storms and an extensive snowmaking system, checking the live feeds helps you see exactly what the coverage looks like at the base and on the upper mountain. Combine these views with the real-time weather information above to plan your perfect day trip from Los Angeles or the Inland Empire.
