About Stratton Mountain

Stratton Mountain, located in the Green Mountains of Vermont, is a quintessential New England ski destination renowned for its rich history and exceptional snow quality. Opened in 1961, Stratton holds a special place in winter sports lore as the birthplace of modern snowboarding; it was here that Jake Burton Carpenter perfected his board designs and the mountain became the first major resort to welcome snowboarders. Today, its bustling European-style village provides a perfect basecamp for winter adventures.

Stratton boasts 670 skiable acres with a substantial 2,003-foot vertical drop, offering an impressive variety of terrain. The mountain features 99 trails serviced by 11 lifts, including a speedy summit gondola and the four-passenger Snow Bowl Express.
