About Whitetail

Situated in the Tuscarora Mountains of southern Pennsylvania, Whitetail Resort is a modern and easily accessible destination just 90 minutes from Washington, D.C. Opened in 1991, making it one of the newer ski resorts on the East Coast, Whitetail was designed specifically to maximize its 935-foot vertical drop. Now operated by Vail Resorts, it features a 100% snowmaking capacity to combat the unpredictable Mid-Atlantic winters.

Terrain and Trails

Whitetail offers 120 acres of skiable terrain spread across 23 trails and serviced by 9 lifts. The mountain is neatly divided by difficulty, making it incredibly intuitive to navigate. Beginners can stick to the Velvet and Northern Lights learning areas, while advanced skiers can tackle the steep, sustained pitch of Exhibition or the high-speed thrill of Bold Decision. The resort also boasts two robust terrain parks for freestyle enthusiasts.

Live Webcams & Weather

Before you make the drive from the metro area, check out the live webcams to see real-time conditions at Whitetail. Watching the camera feeds allows you to gauge crowd sizes at the lift lines and assess the current snowmaking operations. Pair this visual check with the live weather and temperature details above to ensure you dress right for the Pennsylvania winter.
